Microgrids
Microgrid solutions are applicable for remote sites with little to no grid access. These sites usually run off diesel generators with operational expenses that can run as high as $0.5/kWh. CET’s microgrid solutions (typically solar hybrid) convert the site to run predominantly off renewable energy, saving large amounts of diesel and cutting the related negative environmental impact. Through the integration of various technologies we are able to reduce diesel dependence by up to 80% (100% is possible though feasibility can be challenging). Careful planning and assessment needs to be conducted for projects of this nature. CET has implemented some of the largest commercial and remote villages off-grid projects in Africa and is well positioned to provide you with the best possible microgrid solution for your site.
The PV inverters together with DEIF’s Automatic Sustainable Controllers (ASC) and Automatic Genset Controllers provide superior coordination to deliver the highest amount of PV power for hybrid PV diesel applications. This solution works with the grid and a diesel generator to form a complete grid management solution. The PV inverters are designed to respond rapidly to power curtailment commands from controllers enabling integration of PV power in hybrid grids. The ASC controls PV power from the PV inverters to integrate seamlessly with diesel generator powered loads. We offer a customization option to add an Automatic Generator Controller to provide a complete plant management solution.
